What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? NJ

Hi:

I am a legal resident through marriage.
If I were to separate or divorce (after 10 years of marriage), would I have to leave the country?

My husband is a United States citizen.

If you are already a Legal Permanent Resident, divorce will have no effect on your status and would not have to leave the country.

If your husband sponsored you and signed the I-864 he is obliged to make sure you are financially supported to 125% of the federal poverty level unless you have earned enough qualifying SS credits (worked for 10 years, more or less), have become a naturalized citizen or leave the country permanently.
