My girlfriend has an ex husband who broke half the bones in her body, over eight years ago-- in the State of New Mexico.
Could she still sue him for pain and suffering, now that she is begining to have problems as a result of these beatings?

Thanks,
Rick

I am a law school graduate. What I offer is mere information, not to be construed as forming an attorney client relationship.

It really depends on how good a lawyer she has.....The statute of limitations for bringing such a suit may be extended if an attorney can successfully argue that she was unaware of the extent of her injuries until now.
