my wife and i are separated. if she builds any debts on her credit card now, is her debt my responsibility?

I can only relate my experience in VA....I filed for a "legal" separation to protect me from any lawsuits or anything else that may have come my husbands way while we were separated.

A legal separation, or divorce, either of which encompasses a property settlement is the only sure way to avoid responsibility for the future debts of a spouse.
