You will be entitled to half of MARITAL assets (assets accumulated while you were married).

You MAY get some temporary support, but it will likely be limited and will only be for a few months while the divorce is pending.

You also have the right to get a job and start supporting yourself. In fact, I would highly recommend it.

You also have the right to retain any NON comingled assets you brought to the marriage. Non comingled savings, stock, retirement, checking accounts and personal property (such as a free and clear car you may have brought to the marriage). Non comingled inheritance or gift funds would also remain with the recipient.

You will also be entitled to half the marital debt.

Four years is considered a very short term marriage. As stated, SS, if even granted at all, will be very temporary.
