What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Maine

Back in 1982 was caught shoplifting a piece steak in a supermarket.I had to pay a $250.00 fine.

I am about to have a criminal backround check done on me and was wondering if this would show up on that.

Good one.

I had a criminal charge (high misdemeanor) in NJ, that had been dismissed, show up 35 years later when applying for a gun permit in MI. It was only the soon-to-retire court clerk who found the docket book in the basement that proved the charge had been dropped. So... yes, it will almost certainly show up.
