How do I sue Auto Transporter??

Hello, my state is IL.

I have a legal question regarding how to go about doing this.
I hired an Auto Transport broker to transport a classic muscle car
(1970 Olds 442) from a different state to my home in the Chicago area.
The broker subcontracted a driver, and the driver picked up the vehicle in
mid May. They did a vehicle inspection and had my Uncle sign off on it.
No visible damages whatsoever shown.
(That's whom I bought the vehicle from, my Uncle)
I was just there 3 weeks prior visiting him and I saw the car in person. No damage.

Vehicle is driven 800+ miles through some torrential rainstorms.
Vehicle is delivered 3 days later, damaged. I told the driver to
not take the vehicle off the trailer , because I had to file a police
report. After police arrived they took down the testimony of the driver
CLEARLY Stating the damage was NOT there on pickup, and his paperwork
also showed that it was not.

After dealing with an automatic insurance denial letter within 2 days of
delivery, and the Ins company never seeing 1 photo of the car yet, I knew
how this process would go. 3 weeks later the insurance sent someone to inspect
and they say the damage is old. So that's a dead end going nowhere.
Now the broker received ALL the paperwork showing the driver at fault,
but they are unwilling to help saying they are not liable in any way, even though
they were hired to do the job and subcontracted it out. Drivers company is even lying
saying the car is a heap of bondo and rust, and this is what it looks like.

Damage is roughly $2,000 - $4,000 estimated.....I haven't gotten an exact quote yet.

The questions I have are.
1. What is the best legal route to getting my car repaired??
2. If a lawsuit is, do I sue the broker AND the Drivers company ???
3. Do I sue them in Cook County (where I live) ??

If there's any advice on how to go about doing this, please help.
I've never had to do this before. All I want is my car repaired to the same
condition it was in BEFORE the driver damaged it in transport.
