What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? MN

My Grandmother, age 82, was living in an assisted living facility, but now will be confined to a nursing home.

The monthly cost of nursing home care is ~$6,000 per month.

She has $50,000 in cash assests remaining and would like to disburse $36,000 to her grandchildren. The remaining she would use for the $3k asset cap and burial trust.

How can she disburse the $36k without recieving eligibility penalties from Medical Assistance?

Thank you.

There's a 5 year look back period.

Should have gifted money 6 years ago.

Look at how they do the calculations, to come up with the months of ineligibility.

Have granny prepay her own funeral. As for help with disbursing $36K without incurring eligibility penalities, we don't assist posters with fraud as this is a legal advice site not an illegal advice site.
