North Carolina Complaint to Recover Personal Property Held for Lien

I filed a small claims case and it was dismissed today. The magistrate said I had filed the wrong action. What does that mean and what do I do next?

Sorry Racer, that's NOT true. Not in many states including Virginia and North Carolina. In the poster's state of North Carolina, action in small claims court can be brought for money, recovery of specific personal property, or evictions.
(In Virginia, we have only moeny and recovery of property).

Something else is wrong.
