if you lose a case in small claims court and they rule against you for the amount what happens then? How much do you have to pay per month if you can't afford the full amount? this is in New York state

My response:

Unless you asked the judge for a payment schedule, you're on the hook for the full amount within 30 days post judgment. If you fail to pay, then come the employment garnishments and writs of execution against bank accounts and property (both real and personal), and then "debtor's hearings", etc., etc.

Not a rosey situation.
