I was recently laid-off from my job with no warning and less than 24 hours notice. No severence or compensation of any kind. The reason was for financial problems with the company and had nothing to do with my job performance. Many people have told me that there is a Florida Law that requires an employer to give 30 days notice when laying off an employee. Is this true? Are there any Florida Laws that require employers to do anything to help laid-off employees? Thank you, in advance, for your prompt response.
