What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Oklahoma If you are on a 5 year probation for drugs and was recently arrested for child abuse, what will happen?

You can be charged with a violation which can jail you in it's own right. They can modify the terms of your probation. If there was any suspended sentence they can reinstate that. Of course, that's over and above the penalties for the new charge.

There are a number of options, including completely revoking probation or parole and making you serve the remainder of your prison sentence or imposing the maximum sentence for violating probation; modifying the conditions of probation or parole supervision; or just warning you and putting you back on parole or probation under the same conditions.

There are other possible sanctions, such as increasing the level of supervision, placement in an intensive day program, or placement in an electronically monitored home confinement program. If you are seen as a threat to public safety or have committed additional crimes, you will see the walls of prison again in addition to being tried for any new crimes.
