What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Illinois

I lent my now ex-boyfriend $700.00 to buy a dirtbike, the bill of sale is in my name and I have the title, we had a contract that he would repay me in two installments, he paid the first installment, then quit his job, (because he's an alcoholic), now the second payment is due next week and he will not have the money. In the contract is was also stated that he would not drink any alcohol until the loan was paid off. He has been drunk everyday from the time he gets up until he passes out now for about 3 weeks straight. I wrote in the contract that if ANY of the conditions were not met I would be able to do with said dirtbike what I pleased. Is he in default due to the alcohol condition? Does that give me the right to sell the bike to get back the money?
