I live in Ohio and my condo association recently changed the condo rules such that homeowners living in the condo unit are allowed to have pets (up to 2 dogs and 3 cats), however if the homeowner has a tenant living in the unit then the tenant is not allowed to have any pets.

Does this sound reasonable? It seems discriminatory to me. I would prefer to offer my tenant the option to have a pet as it makes the property more marketable during the recession.

Your comments are greatly appreciated. What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)?

Discrimination? Yes. Illegal discrimination? No. (Just one of the many, many, many reasons that independent-minded people should never buy a condo.)
