I live and work in Maryland. The company I work for pays us bimonthly the 15th and 30th of each month, recently I was late handing in a timesheet, and was told that I would have to wait till the next pay period to get paid for that week, which was the 15th of Feb. I now understand that Maryland has a wage on time law. 1. Is what they did illegal? 2. Do I have any legal recourse? 3. If this should happen again what is the best course of action. Note that when I did get paid on Feb. 15 the "missing" week was included.
