Hello there forum,

I recently got out of a bad relationship. I have been letting my ex-fiance use my vehicle for about 3 months. I helped her to even get her license after driving her from school and work for 1+ years. Anyway, she's not wanting to give up the title/keys to the car when it's insured under my name and the title is in my name. Is this not breaking the law? She's trying to rationalize by saying she $1600 spent on a Saturn which I have been driving (and wish to freely give to her and not leave her without anything to drive, also with a title under my name) for a few months now.

She has also wrote out a forged check for $250 for this month's rent which is an offense as well! I've already been to the E.R. over her and received 9 stitches, I don't even have insurance... I just want this nightmare to end. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated. Thank you!

If it's your car, you can apply for a duplicate title. But the keys you will have to get on your own.

If you know where she lives/works just tow the car once you get your proof of ownership, then have it rekeyed.

Or maybe you can go through the police - file a criminal complaint against her.
