I reside in the state of Florida. I was recently notified that I was laid off and asked to leave the same day. I received my final pay check and two weeks of severance pay dated for 3/30/01.
I have located employment with a former client of my employer. I did not have a non compete agreement. My former employer is extremely upset to lose this client and I am now concerned that he/she will stop payment on my final check.
What are my rights to secure that the final paycheck is honored?
