CALIFORNIA. what can i be charged with and the penalties for using a credit card without the owners permission? would i get a count for everytime it was used or is it one count for the whole thing? also, would it be best if i just admitted it to the credit card company myself or should i wait until they investigate? i used my boyfriends cc when he was in jail and i want to deal with it myself.

There are an entire spectrum of charges -- everything from Identity theft to theft or grand theft. You could also end up in trouble for forgery, fraud, theft by deception, -- should I continue? It could be one count per each use. It depends quite frankly on the details.
