What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Michigan. I am the executor of my fathers estate. Dad passed away before he could collect on a purchase agreement he had with a grandchild. Is there a time limit to claim this on his estate, can I collect the money or reposess the property?

If you have been appointed by the court to administer the estate, you have the authority, actually, the duty, to collect debts owed to your father. However, his passing does to alter the terms of an agreement with a third party.
