What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? maryland
are adult children who were once in an existing will but in the last month of their fathers illness a trust was created by him and his wife that excluded them. Their father may have done this diliberately or it could be that he was too ill to do anything but concede to the wishes of his present wife. In any event it seems grossly unfair that his own children get absolutely nothing. Any info or comment would be helpful.

The adult children should speak with an attorney.

and FYI. it's not abandonment. dad is no longer legally required to care for his adult children. he can demand a bonfire with the money with a smo'res banquet if he wants.
