There is a parcel of land in southern NY where the land was willed to 3 people, their names are on the deed. One person, who has life use, who resides, is a 1/3 owner and has been paying for everything, taxes, maintenance, such as snow removal, exc. for over 5 years. Would the person paying taxes and living on the property fall under squatters rights when this person wants the other two off of the deed?

Nope. Said 1/3 person will need to find a way to buy out said 2/3 people.

BTW paying for snow removal is not maintanence , Primer and paint for exterior window trim is maint, roof repairs or replacement is maintanence. new carpet is cosmetic replacing rotted flooring is maintanence. property taxes ,insurance , legitimate maintanence of the property ,Not cosmetic improvement, would be things that could be added up into totals so a atty can see what they totaled since the other two should have contributed , those totals may be able to assist when a partition suit is started.
