What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? connecticut

My boyfriends exwife has made him quick claim his house that he has grown up his whole life over to her. Giving him no legal rights to anything. He called the mortgage company and told them that he has the necessary paperwork for them to release his name. They told him that they dont care he is still responsible for the mortgage even though he hasnt been living there for over 3 years. We need to know what legal steps to take, to get his name off the mortgage. The mortgage company says the only way his name can come off is if his exwife refinances. But unfortnately his exwife is in foreclosure right now.

He is also trying to get custody of his youngest son but unfortnately we need a bigger house to be able to give him his own room and without his name off the other mortgage we cant move forward.

Can you help us??

The mortgage company is correct. Your boyfriend is still liable for the mortgage. Neither his quit claim to the 'ex' (lost 'ownership') nor the court order to quit claim has any effect on his contractual obligation to pay.
Looks like your boyfriend is about to get screwed (again) by his ex.

Not relevant.
