My brother passed away in 2003 and he left a daughter as his beneficiary. He also left me as the guardian and personal representative of the estate. It has been 7 years and I'm still asking the lawyers why is it taking so long getting the house paid off. What are my rights as a personal representative and how long should it take for an estate to be close?

As the court-appointed personal representative, you have the right to hire an attorney of your choice to represent you. You also have the right to fire that attorney and retain another.

Only the attorney that you hired can answer the questions you asked.
