I was hired by a company to create a web site for them. They have not paid me for the work. I want to keep the design rights copyrighted but they will not allow me to specifically state it in the site itself. What should I do?

Well, that is kind of weird. If you own the rights, you have the right to display your copyright symbol. So...I don't know what else to tell you, other than go back and see if they will change their mind.
