The Statute of Frauds requires some contracts to be in writing. You would have to search Florida Statutes to see which contracts must be written to be enforceable in your state.

Florida's statutes of frauds requiring contracts to be written as applied to construction include the following:
  • A contract that cannot be performed within one year
  • A promise to guaranty or answer for the debt of another
  • A contract for sale of real property
  • A contract to lease real property for longer than one year
  • An agreement for the sale of goods (only) in excess of $500
  • An agreement to submit a dispute(s) to arbitration
  • An agreement for purchase or lease of materials or services with a condominium association
  • A credit agreement.
  • Contracts for services other than certain health services with a state agency having a price of at least $15,000.
