Minnesota Law question -

Hello, we live in MN and my boyfriends name is extremly common "Michael Johnson". We constantly get collections notices and things that dont belong to him, we dispute it and it goes away. However now, as we are trying to move and get an auto loan there is apparently a new judement been placed against him from a rental in 2005.
This rental was in a city which he never lived in. The judgement went to a lawyer for this company who confirmed that the socials dont match and there isnt sufficent info so he dropped it. we thought we were in the clear, and we called the company to get a letter stating that its the wrong person and she wont drop it. she says that it is his social.
we have asked for a copy of the lease and application to see the signatures and see what is going on and she "cant find them right now".

Any suggestions? We are on an extremly fixed income and cannot afford to pay 1500+ for a lawyer to clear this up.
