X-Girlfriend Debt

My X-Girlfriend owes me $25K+. We split over a year ago & I haven't received a dime since. Should I pursue this as a series of claims in Small Claims or as 1 regular Civil case & consider getting an attorney?

Moreover, after our split she moved in with her parents rent free. Can her parents claim her as a dependent & if so can I include them in my suit? I have concerns on her ability & obviously willingness to pay me back.

What is your State name ?

Was this a series of loans, or one, single transaction ?

Why does she owe you the money ? Was there a written contract, or series of contracts, or Promissory Notes ?

How old is she ?

What was the date of the loan, or the dates of all the loans ?

How was the money transferred to her - - by check, cash, or some other manner ?

Do any writings exist concerning the loan or loans ?

If you didn't enter into the contract or loan with her parents, then you can't sue her parents.
