i want to start a business converting analog audio/video into digital form. will i run a risk of illegally reproducing business? where can i research for more information on this? thank you.
I believe that you would be infringing copyrights by converting the material. That would be copying it. I believe the only way to do it without infringing the copyright is with the permission of the copyright holder.
But check me out on this. I would suggest you use the following link to get to the FreeAdvice explanations of copyright law. If that material does not answer your specific question, it will give you a good fast overview of the law: https://law.freeadvice.com/intellectual_property/copyright_law/
If you want more info after reading the above, go to the US Copyright Office site at http://lcweb.loc.gov/copyright/. They have a lot of material there.
