Possible termination from job.

I am a resident of mississippi. on friday,april 6, 2001, i was threatened by the janitor at my school. the assistant principal heard it and did nothing. i called my husband and he came to the school to have a meeting. the janitor and my husband got into a physical fight. i was not suspended, but sent home today. what are my rights, do i need an attorney and can i be fired?
