What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? CALIFORNIA

Is there a labor law that explicity explains an employee's right to have someone of their choice be present (NOT PARTICIPATE) during a "Disciplinary Action" meeting with employer???What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)?

Minor caveat; if you are a member of a union, you are guaranteed the right to have a witness at any meeting to which you have reason to believe will be disciplinary in nature. It does not have to be spelled out in the CBA - the right is absolute for union members. Google Weingarten.

If you are not a union member, it's up to the employer.
