What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Florida
My husband passed away last June, there is no property or money involved. I received a letter from an old live insurance policy he had that went into liquidation and to receive any future distributions they are requiring a court stamped executor appointment.
Do I need to go through all of this if there is nothing in the estate?

I'm not sure what you mean by "... went into liquidation" and "future distributions". Could you clarify.

Was this a policy on his life? Do you know if there was a beneficiary named?
