severance agreement

I live in Tennessee and am yet another in the long line of high tech employees that have been "cut". My severance letter contains the following statement "we suggest you seek counel before signing this Agreement" I this common ? I've read the letter several and there do not appear to be any "traps".

Also, I was let go just 3 weeks before my 401K plan becomes fully vested. Is there anyting I can do about this ?

Possibly but that would be one of the reasons you ask a local employment law attorney (counsel as the letter refers to them).
