What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Maryland

About 2 months ago we bought a car from a dealership. We were not ready to buy since we wanted the car for using as a taxi and we didn't have the license for it yet. But the dealership put a lot of pressure on us, promised to take the car back if we don't get the license and also managed to get us a 6.9% interest rate instead of the original 12% they were offering - if we get it NOW. So we did get the car. Unfortunately, since we didn't get the license, we took the car back and gave the keys to them. The dealership then called ford motor company and told them to come and reposes the car. Mean while when we tried to call the dealership to talk to them, they wouldn't talk to us.

Do we have a case? We have witnesses about the promise they made to take it back.

The statute of frauds requires that an enforceable contract for goods purchased over $500 must be in writing.

If you don't have in writing that they will refund your money, you are out of luck.

They took it back...even you acknowledge that they didn't agree to release you from your responsibility to pay as per your contract.
