What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Minnesota

My mother and father divorced four years ago and the divorce settlement stated that she could live in their house until my brother turned 18, in which case she would need to buy my father out or sell. My father passed away February 28, 2010 and his will states that everything be split equally between my brother and I. My mother has made a few comments that "she doesnt have to give up half the house" now that my father has passed but I believe that my father's half of the house would still go to his estate. Has anyone been involved with a case like this?
