What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Illinois

I recently purchased some items from a retail store and used my credit card. 3 days later the company charged my credit card 3 addtional amounts. When I called the company to find out why they said the items purchased were marked incorrectly in their system, so they charged me the full amount. Is this in any way legal?

do you have a receipt with the amount you agreed to pay on it and your signature? If so, call the CC company and dispute the charges.

but to the underlying question: no, they cannot unilaterally charge an additional amount to your card without your authorization.
