Virginia - Auto Lien Satisfaction Penalty

What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Virginia

I know there is a penalty for not providing a satisfaction of lien document in Virginia within a given time for mortgages.

Is there a similar penalty for automobile liens?

What did the office of bureaucrats issuing these things say when you called them and asked them?

The Virginia DMV folk have no idea.

being that this is a legal advice forum, I thought maybe someone on the interwebs had had cause for finding this information and maybe remembered and were willing to share...
