Possession of less than a 1/2 gram of Hashish?

I was at Little Six Casino in the parking lot and was caught on tape smoking weed and drinking beer in a car that wasn't mine. When they searched me I had a vile with less than a half gram of hashish. They didn't know what to charge me with so they let me go and said I was going to receive a letter in the mail telling me what my formal charges were and what to do next. I was wondering if anyone knows what I will/can get charged with and what my options are now?

Can you get charged? YES! Will you get charged? Well, i don't have the crystal ball anymore. But i did ask my eight ball, however it keeps saying "ask again later".

You have the option of waiting at your mailbox until a fancy letter from the district attorney's office shows up. You have the option of calling the district attorney's office right this instance just to leave a message. You have the option of waiting till morning to call**************.....

i know i will get charged but i dont know if that kind of charge will get me a fine that i can pay if i plead guilty or if its worth hiring an attorney to try to keep it off my record. this is my first charge since i turned eighteen
