Can I be employed full-time in a private firm and still have a paid, visiting consultation with another firm without violating any law/ethics? I am working in a private company. I plan to start a paid, visiting consultation to desiring companies as a side-earning. I will keep all the tax details accurate and honest. Will I be violating my existing company's rules/ethics? Will I be violating any other acts/legal issues? I have heard that one cannot be employed in more than one company at the same time (Factories Act, 1948). What is the way out if I want to continue my idea of consulting while still remaining employed in my present company?
