I live in GA and got arrested at a concert in Charlotte NC. I was arrested inside the venue when someone passed me a little joint. The undercovers then swarmed me and searched me. They found less than 1/2 g of MDMA, which they gave me a felony for. I also recieved misdemeanors for the pot, the paper the pot was in, and a flask.

I had my first court date today in which my lawyer told me they are trying for a deferred sentence, but this is usually not allowed in Charlotte because I am out of state, but the DA is going to work something out.

My question is, what can I expect to have to do being that I am out of state. My next court date is Sept 14th 2010. How soon would I have to a drug test after this court date, and will I? I do smoke pot from time to time and am wondering if I should refrain all together?

Thanks for any help here!
