What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Georgia My brother is insisting that I disburse funds from my father's estate. His will is in the courts to be probated. I have told him that I cannot disburse funds to him until the will has been probated (Georgia). Is this correct? What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)?

If you are going to be the estate's personal representative, you best begin to manage your bother's expectations. Like, say, not to expect any disbursements until at least 6 months after your appointment by the court.
