What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? California

Hello:
A simple question, and hopefully a simple answer.
I am in the process of creating a website which will feature a weekly news show created with all 3D generated characters. I am currently putting together a small staff to implement the concept. My eventual goals to make money from advertising on the site and in the broadcast.
Bottom line, I want to create whatever legal entity would be necessary for me to retain complete control over the site and its results, both legally, and financially. If the concept is successful, which I am confident it will be, I want to avoid any complications with the staff, particularily seeing that the staff will be signed up with the understanding that compensation will be predicated on the sucess of the idea, and whatever profits are generated from the site. Any feedback appreciated.
