What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? OK

Who pays the probate lawyer if the estate is found to be in debt, with no assests? I am the personal reperesntative, and found my mothers estate owes more than it is worth. I did not know this before filing the probate. What now? I don't have money to pay a lawyer...

I can't say for Oklahoma specifically. But, in most states, the expenses of administering the estate, including attorney fees, are usually #1 or #2 in the priority list to be paid.

No assets at all?
