return from lay off

i am a female hospitality manager in ohio. i was layed off in november due to lack of business. i received a certified letter from my employer asking me to "verify" that I have resigned my position by signing a form. i did not sign the form and called the hotel. it is rumored that they offered my position to another male manager,now that business is back. i am meeting with the GM on thursday to discuss. i would like to know the legalties before our meeting. i have all of the proper documentation from them regarding my lay off.
