What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? CA

When an attorney who has not been retained acts in the same capacity as a retained attorney in a persons civil case(s) for an extended period of time, then does not follow through from writing papers to obtaining experts (a-z) as affirmed verbally and in writing, causing the litigant harm, is this professional negligence or breach of contract, or both? (Los Angeles Superior Court)

How did the attorney who had not been retained act? Why do you believe an attorney who was not retained has to do anything? What do you mean by not retained?

On the one hand, your post is saying that the lawyer should not have become involved. On the other, you're saying that he didn't do what he was supposed to do.

Who let the attorney become involved, and why was he allowed to continue when he wasn't wanted? Who has paid him?
