Changing insurers aften an accident

What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Tennessee. My fiancee was in an accident a few years ago, was issued a ticket for an illegal turn? not sure exactly sure about that. Anyway, it was dropped in court. She was sued by the other driver one year later for $120k. Question: Is her current carrier legally obligated to continue to represent her in this matter should she change carriers?

The insurance she had at the time of the accident will cover all claims and defend against the suit, whether she is still their customer or not.
