What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? NY

My landlords was arrested and charge for burglarizing my apartment of over $10,000 worth of my belongings. The DA is taking care of the case and I think it's the state v. my landlords. The eye witness testify already. How do I get to put my input in this case to recover my losses somewhat and have them pay me back?
How do i go about having them pay for their criminal acts??

Restitution may be made as part of the sentence.

Otherwise, you sue the bad people in court. If I was you, I would go after the equity in the home you rent.

Yeah, free rent!
