Why do I need to go to court?

Hi

Ive got a speeding ticket 21-25 over on a highway.
I paid it right away asking for court supervision.
I just logged in to their website and I see that for whatever reason supervision was denied. That's fine It can go on my record as it's only my second ticket ever. On line it says that the case legal status is CLOSED , fines and costs were assessed. I just got a letter in my mail requesting me to go court. Question is WHY ???

Thanks, I was planning on doing it anyway but since Im not too familiar with US law I though I'll ask first
