What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? NEW YORK. IS IT LEGAL OR NOT FOR AN ATTORNEY WHO IS HANDLING THE ESTATE OF MY LATE MOTHER-IN-LAW(DIED 2/2010) TO ALSO REPRESENT ONE OF THE RECEIPIENTS OF A SHARE OF THE ESTATE? What do you mean by "handling the estate?" Has the attorney been appointed as the executor? Or has the executor retained the attorney to represent the executor?

On what matter is the attorney representing one of the recipients? On a matter involving the estate?
