What exactly is the Federal Law the company refers to in a Release Agreement when they let you go due to downsizing or job elimination? It states in my letter....

that, in accordance with the federal law, I have (21) calendar days from the date of the release and agreement is received by me to consider and accept the release and agreement by signing and returning it to employer and if so accepted, another seven(7) calendar days to change my mind.

why 21 calendar days when if you want to contact anyone it takes business days?
