Search warrant for one thing, charged with something else

in alabama, police had warrant to search home for evidence related to a murder, based on another person's tip. Drugs were found, the dea unit was called, had no warrant for searching for drugs, but person was arrested and charged on drug possession. can these drug charges stand?
