I sold my car in October. My current insurance was for the minimum coverage and the 6 month premium was 170.00 The insurance expires on 12-24-2010.
I just received a renewal notice and wanted to know. How should I notify them that I do not want to renew. They charge 50.00 for cancellation and I am not going to be driving another car until next year I don't want them to cancel me for non payment and I am not paying 50.00 to cancel.

Allowing a policy to expire is not you cancelling the insurance. Just tell them you are not renewing your policy. There should be no charge incurred for that.
